A filler that stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin
Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous carrier gel. Its volume is approximately 30% CaHA and 70% carrier gel. It is a biocompatible and biodegradable implant (duration of several months).
The CaHA microspheres are similar to the minerals naturally present in bones and teeth. They degrade naturally into phosphate and calcium ions, which are then metabolized by the body.
Over time, the gel is absorbed and fibroblasts appear. The process of neocollagenesis that is thus triggered stimulates the gradual growth of the patient's collagen and the production of elastin.Radiesse® smoothes the signs of aging by immediately restoring volume to the face or hands. Once injected, it acts as a support under the skin, stimulating collagen and elastic production, significantly improving skin quality.It fills in deep wrinkles and reconstitutes denser skin tissue, which has the effect of tightening the skin. Radiesse® has a high level of viscosity and elasticity.

After preparing the skin, the physician injects Radiesse® under the dermis. The injection is minimally painful because the product contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that increases patient comfort during treatment.
